Engagement Lead
About Primum
Primum is building a better way for Providers to access trusted clinical oncology guidance when they need it. Most cancer care takes place in community settings, where Providers care for patients across many different cancers and navigate increasingly complex treatment decisions. Primum connects these Providers with specialists for timely, practical peer-to-peer guidance, at no cost to the provider.
Our mission is to help every Provider access the expertise they need to make well-informed decisions for their patients.
As our network grows, we want Primum to become a trusted, accessible resource for Providers when questions arise in practice, one that fits naturally into their workflow and supports, rather than replaces, their independent clinical judgment.
About the Role
We’re looking for an Engagement Lead to help Providers discover, access, and continue to benefit from Primum. You will help ensure that the Provider experience is relevant, respectful, and useful enough for Primum to become a trusted resource over time.
This is a hands-on operating role. You won’t simply recommend an engagement approach and hand it to someone else. You’ll help shape the work, carry it through, learn from the results, and improve it over time.
Often, the work will begin with small, hands-on efforts. That’s okay. We are looking for someone who thinks outside the box, loves to experiment, try new things, ultimately learning what is useful to Providers before building repeatable programs.
This role is measured by meaningful outcomes, not activity alone. Measures such as email delivery, open rates, clicks, logins, and program volume can help us learn what is working, but they are not the goal. The goal is to help Providers access useful, independent expert guidance when it can support patient care.
As you learn, you’ll turn the most effective approaches into consistent, scalable practices.
What You’ll Do
Your primary goal will be to make Primum the resource Providers naturally turn to when they need peer guidance. You will succeed by consistently delivering the right value at the right moment, without creating noise or adding to their workload.
You will think every day about what Primum can provide that helps clinicians do their jobs more effectively, support their patients, and save valuable time.
- Develop a deep understanding of Providers’ work, clinical needs, interests, and communication preferences.
- Use engagement insights to anticipate what individual Providers may find useful and deliver it through the right channel at the right time.
- Create and execute thoughtful programs that encourage Providers to access Primum and return whenever peer guidance could help.
- Ensure every interaction offers clear value — useful clinical insight, relevant peer expertise, easier access to support, or meaningful time savings.
- Test and refine messaging, channels, timing, frequency, and experiences to improve relevance and reduce unnecessary outreach.
- Monitor Provider behavior and feedback, quickly adjusting approaches that are not useful or do not respect Providers’ time.
- Build sustained participation through trust and demonstrated value, rather than communication volume.
- Respect Provider choice, communication preferences, clinical independence, and time in every interaction.
- Define leading and lagging indicators that help the team understand whether an approach is useful and where improvements are needed.
Who We’re Looking For
- Cares deeply about supporting oncology Providers to better support patients.
- Is a “Can Do” person — comfortable owning and feeling the pressure of results; this role is measured by meaningful outcomes, not activity.
- Is resourceful and comfortable solving problems without an established playbook.
- Is a driver — thoughtful, with a strong bias toward action, who likes testing thoughtful ideas quickly.
- Is curious about what helps people find value, return, and build trust over time.
- Is highly analytical and can use data responsibly to understand needs, barriers, and opportunities.
- Is a hands-on operator, comfortable developing communications, launching programs, reviewing results, and following through.
- Is productively paranoid about typos and details — goes the extra mile to check anything that goes out externally.
- Is an active communicator — not afraid to call up the CEO or anyone on the team to talk about a new idea or tactic, or ask for help.
Experience We’re Looking For
- Demonstrated hands-on experience building and executing engagement programs.
- Experience in a high-ownership environment, owning both results and the work to get there.
- Experience using data and direct feedback to identify barriers, segment audiences appropriately, and improve participation over time.
- Hands-on experience developing communications, launching multichannel programs, testing approaches, and measuring results.
- Experience working with oncology Providers or within healthcare, digital health, healthcare technology, or another regulated environment.
Bonus Points For
- Prior experience in a provider-facing healthcare, digital health, or patient engagement role.
- Experience with CRM or marketing automation tooling used to run multichannel outreach.
- Time at an early-stage startup, building a new program from scratch rather than optimizing an existing one.
