What stats do you provide patients regarding benefits of endocrine therapy over placebo for invasive breast cancer and for DCIS. I know it’s dependent on a lot of things, I’ve heard ballpark reduces risk by 1/3. All the trials on uptodate are referring to AI vs Tam trials but not AI vs placebo or Tam vs placebo.
For DCIS I say just surgery 30% risk of recurrence, with XRT it goes down to 15 and ET down to 7. For invasive I was taught 1/3 reduction with chemo and 1/3 with ET but if only ET then 50% reduction. You're right this is a ballpark and with oncotype I feel we can rely on their numbers.
